A New Beginning
I recently made a big change. I wanted to wait a week before posting about about it, so I would have time for reality to set in. As of one week ago, I am fully self employed - meaning I now work on Buried Diamond all of the time! This has been a goal for years, and it took a lot of work, planning, and determination to get here. As soon as I made the decision, I felt like I was floating. I couldn't believe I did it! I couldn't believe how happy it made me.
I worked in fashion for 8 years as a textile designer, for brands like Tibi, DKNY, and Kate Spade Saturday. I still plan on freelancing and consulting in the industry. I'm not ready to let go of that aspect of my career just yet, because I truly enjoy designing prints for apparel and home.
But now I can focus on painting for the pleasure of painting, and on making new charms!! I know I now have to work harder than ever, but I think the next year will be full of opportunity and magic. Thank you to everyone who has ever purchased a Buried Diamond, or written me a sweet note, or told someone else about the brand. I couldn't have done this without your support. XO
